In 1933, up near where the Kansas City Airport is, Bonnie and Clyde shot it out with some of the locals. Place got burned down. I never knew that they got farther north than Joplin.
Heck, Missouri is all gaga over Jesse James, Clay County even has gone so far as to make his family farm a tourist destination. Jesse James Farm Home
So I'm surprised some entrepreneur has not found some way to make money off of the Bonnie and Clyde phenomenon.

Man, what's he smoking.
I guess Pres. Bush must have taken up the bottle again. Look at what he says about Iraq:
"I think (Iraq is) going well. It breaks my heart whenever anybody dies, but we liberated 25 million people who were living under a dictator. It puts us on the side of democracy in the Arab world. Twenty years from now, we'll be hard-pressed to find anyone who says it wasn't worth the effort. This is not just another democracy. This is a democracy in an Arab world ..."
Oh, maybe its not Bush after all. Follow the link to see who has such weird fantasies.

The Geeselets are ready to leave
I moved into my new house on April 16. I started driving to the plant where I work in south central Kansas City via Blue River Parkway. Along the way there are several lakes that are in the Blue River flood plain. As you may imagine, these lakes attract Canada Geese. Lots of them. Before you read on you may want to check out this website:
Coalition to Prevent the Destruction of Canada Geese: FAQs
Man, I didn't know that about Geese. Anyway, sorry for the disruption. As I was driving into work in late April, I saw a pair of geese walking through the grass next to one of the lakes. It seemed like someone had dumped a can of fuzzy oversized tennis balls beside them. I thought it was some kind of exotic hog weed and paid it no mind.
Until the next time, when I drove by the lake, the fuzzballs had gotten larger. And they were in different places than the time before. It dawned on me that they were little geese; geeselets (I know, they're called goslings).
As I have driven to work this Spring, the little fuzzballs have gotten larger and larger. Like small, hirsute beachballs.
A couple of weeks ago I noticed that the goslings looked just like miniature versions of Mom and Dad, who are still hanging around.
I expect that sometime soon, if they haven't already, the geese will fly off. Good luck little fuzzballs.

Poor Jimmy Carter
Man, its got to hurt to be sitting there in Church and have the former Prime Minister of England say of President Reagan,
"He sought to mend America's wounded spirit, to restore the strength of the free world, and to free the slaves of communism. These were causes hard to accomplish and heavy with risk. "
Especially, when you were the guy who wounded the spirit to begin with.

The Good Old Days.
Back in the good old days. Before the ACLU screwed up this country royal. It only took eighty-one days from the time a couple of killers did their crime until they received justice in the Missouri gas chamber.
The killers kidnapped little Bobby Greenlease in 1953. Deceased true crime writer and convicted killer J.J. Maloney writes about the case here.
Greenlease
Now if we can just string up the women who killed that little dog, we can do some real justice.

Who is Dumber?
I've spent much of today musing on that question and, still, an answer escapes me.
The guy who said, "watch me stick this light stick up this Rackies butt."
Or the guy who said, "wait till I get my camera."
Reason fails me.

Luis Diuguid
The Star's worst columnist had an article in yesterday in which he was pimping the story of the woman who thinks President Bush knew that 19 Islamic nutballs were going to fly 4 US airliners into fixed objects at high rates of speed.
Time limits me from saying just how much better my life would be if the Star would just delete the whole Opinion page.

Gee, I've always wanted to start my own blog. Here it is.
This weekend's Kansas City Star had an article on recycling. They were trying to show what a success it was because the families had reduced the amount of trash they were throwing away. What the Star didn't take into account, though, was the value of the time spent sorting trash.
Yeah, like Art Brisbane is going to spend his time separating out his garbage at home. It is cheaper to just bag it and ship it to the landfill.
It is time to tell the religious recyclers, and by that I mean anyone who advocates recycling from anything other than materialist arguments, to stuff it.
